Duck Duck Books Wins 2025 Communicator Award of Excellence

We’re honored to announce that Duck Duck Books is an Award of Excellence honoree at the 31st Annual Communicator Awards, recognized in the Campaign—Collaboration Series for Public Relations category for our campaign, “Asian American Books Everywhere All At Once.”

This is the highest honor awarded in the competition, placing us among standout winners such as Netflix, NASA+, Getty Museum, Apple, PepsiCo, The Walt Disney Company, NBCUniversal, Bank of America and many others.

About the Campaign

In the spirit of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, our team at Duck Duck Books joined forces with three remarkable Asian American authors in April 2023 —Yobe Qiu (byYobeQiu.com), Vincent Yee (clarawubooks.com), and Tracy Guan (tangerineandjadepress.com)—to launch a grassroots initiative aimed at diversifying school libraries with books by Asian Americans, for diverse American kids.

The community rallied behind us, and during AAPI Heritage Month in May, we successfully distributed books to schools in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Washington, and California, enriching classrooms and libraries with meaningful, representative stories. The effort was further amplified by WuKong Education and Scholastics, reaching 100 US K-12 schools.

A Global Stage for a Grassroots Effort

With more than 3,000 entries from agencies, creatives, and organizations worldwide, The Communicator Awards is one of the largest and most competitive awards programs honoring excellence, effectiveness, and innovation in communication. The awards are judged by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only body of over 500 industry leaders from top brands and agencies. This year’s Jury included professionals from Google, Accenture Song, Smithsonian, Microsoft, Digitas, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Publicis, Spotify, Johns Hopkins, Critical Mass, Amazon, The Andy Warhol Museum and many more. Entries are scored on a 10-point scale by the Jurors. Excellence Winners receive a score of 9 or above.

Thank You for Believing in Representation

We are proud to stand alongside our campaign partners and this year’s award-winning peers. This recognition from AIVA reaffirms the power of grassroots collaboration and the impact diverse voices can make when we come together.
